A commitment ceremony is a marriage ceremony in which two people commit their lives to each other, but it isn’t legally binding. Commitment ceremonies look the same as a legally binding wedding, but you do not have to gain a marriage license and do not sign paperwork to make the marriage legal.

 

There are many reasons ‌you may choose a commitment ceremony instead of a legally binding one including if you cannot get married by law. Same-sex marriage is still illegal in some cultures, but everyone deserves the right to commitment and marriage. As a result, until marriage equality becomes law everywhere, same sex couples in regions where their love is illegal only have the option to share vows via a commitment ceremony, which is a beautiful way to express your love and commitment to each other.

 

I will work closely with you to create a ceremony that truly reflects your relationship and personalities and will express your shared values and beliefs.

 

Your commitment ceremony can be held in any location and can incorporate cultural traditions or spiritual elements according to your wishes. We can include readings, vows, rituals, music, and any symbolic gestures that hold significance for you and on your special day I will make your ceremony a celebration of love, respect and commitment.

Prices

My fees start from the prices stated below – as all ceremonies are bespoke the final cost may vary depending on what additional components are included:

Mid-week Wedding celebrations or civil partnership celebrations/Commitment Ceremonies (Mon-Fri) - 2025/2026 From £695

Weekend (Sat/Sun)/Bank Holiday Wedding celebrations or civil partnership celebrations/Commitment Ceremonies - 2025/2026 From £750

 

Price includes:

• A 2 hour face-to-face meeting where I will gather the notes I need to write a

bespoke ceremony for you

• Ongoing communication as required – to include help writing your own vows if required

• A draft copy of your ceremony for you to review and make any changes

necessary. I will make changes to your script up to two weeks before the

ceremony

Please note: (If you ask me to re-write the whole script this will be classed as 2

scripts – only 2 scripts are included in your fees and any additional scripts will incur a cost)

• I hour run-through ahead of the day (on phone/video link)

• My attendance at the venue on the day of the ceremony - (I will arrive at least 1

hour before the ceremony)

• Officiating at your ceremony on the day

• A commemorative certificate

• A printed keepsake version of your ceremony script, sent to you after your

Ceremony

Additional Fees:

Additional fees will be charged to cover travel over a 30-mile radius from New Milton.

​

Additional fees will be charged at a rate of £50 per hour for any face-to-face rehearsals required before the event
