My name is Diane and I live on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire with my husband. We have four sons and three grandchildren. I love spending time at the beach or walking in the forest and feel very fortunate to have both so close to home. I come from London originally and still appreciate heading back to the city now and then, to see a show or browse the shops. I enjoy reading, gardening and cooking, and am especially fond of warm sunshine, holidays and music.

My story

After almost thirty years working in the NHS, I chose to bring together my experience and love of working with people and my passion for creative writing and speaking, and trained as a celebrant. After gaining my NOCN Certificate in UK Celebrancy, I founded Meraki Ceremonies. The name Meraki appealed to me as soon as I heard it and I just really liked what it means....  - 'The love, creativity and passion you put into something; the act of leaving a piece of yourself in your work; actions that come from the heart, like a labour of love.'

I create and deliver personalised ceremonies for weddings, commitment ceremonies, vow renewals, celebrations of love and naming ceremonies across Dorset, Hampshire, the New Forest and London, and I’m always happy to travel further if you would like me to be your celebrant.

Choosing the right celebrant matters. You need someone who will listen, understand, and craft a ceremony that feels genuinely yours. My professional and life experience enables me to work closely with you to design and officiate a ceremony that reflects your story — the day is yours, and my role is to help you shape a perfect, unforgettable moment.

You're welcome to contact me via email or telephone so we can arrange a meeting and talk through your plans for your special day.

I also provide a personalised service for funerals, interment of ashes, memorial ceremonies and living funerals. I will support you in creating a meaningful farewell that honours life in the most heartfelt way.

I hope the page on why choose a celebrant helps you explore your options and understand how a celebrant-led ceremony offers freedom, creativity and a truly personal experience.
